Closing Cerimonies

No we’re not closing down, but today is the end of Blizzard’s Worldwide Invitational 08′ and boy did it go out with a bang! The closing ceremonies were enough to make the 5 am first day and 3 am next day wake-ups worth while. There were two good concerts (well actually lets call them shows because the crowds were pretty subdued), L70ETC (Level 70 Elite Tauren Cheiftain) and Video Games Live (their first ever in show in France). L70ETC brought out some of their normal hits and a new one based on the newly announced Diablo 3 and finished with their most popular song “I am Murloc”. At the end L70ETC changed the 70 to 80 due to the new level cap in the next WoW expansion. Video Games Live did their normal great show, but also brought forward some new music based around the Blizzard world. The games included WoW: Wrath of the Lich King, Starcraft 2 and one that seemed that was actually featured in every incarnation of WarCraft (I hadn’t even noticed until now) and, as a world premier, the music to Diablo 3, and you know what? IT WAS AWESOME! During the Diablo 3 music they had a series of concept art and picturess, some of which I don’t think were posted on the Diablo 3 website (though I may be wrong).

This was a great ending to a great event where we saw the announcement of Diablo 3, got some new info on StarCraft 2, and, oddly, not too much on Wrath of the Lich King except some updates on the different classes and how they will be affected in the upcomming expansion. If Blizzcon will be anything like this I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait. Though I may have to hurt something if they pull another splash page mystery image, “can you guess what we’re gonna announce?” But anyways we can’t wait for Blizzcon!
