Well it will be soon anyway. The splash page has melted away to show us the above message. I still have one question though… if hell was frozen over, why hadn’t the Toronto Maple Leafs won the Stanley Cup? maybe that’s just me though… Anyways at 5 am (eastern) the official announcement was made. And it was awesome! The splash page for Blizzard’s website has also been updated for this new announcement. The Diablo 3 sub-site of Blizzard’s website offers a nice little teaser trailer, and the gameplay footage that we were shown earlier in the morning (trust me its really cool).

Some other announcements were a new and improved Battle.net that will be released with StarCraft 2 and used with it plus Diablo 3 and it will allow you to “just log-in and join your friends.” That sounds nice! Also the lead developer (during the Diablo 3 Developer Panel) said that, but he also said that Diablo 3 will feature something very nice. Randomness! They have created a new randomizer engine. It apparently has an “almost unlimited” amount of different dungeon experiences, creature encounters, and item drops.

Overall this game looks awesome! But there is still one question left in everyones mind after seeing this, when? When will we be able to buy and play this game? Sure people will say, “Well if they have gameplay footage it must be close, right?” Well actually that can be wrong, and Blizzard has had a past in this. Anyone remember StarCraft Ghost? now I’m not saying it may be canceled, far from that actually (that would be called suicide!). What I am saying though is a delay may be possiable. As soon as they say when it’ll come out that’s when I’ll get extremely excited.
